West Bend Kiwanis Early Riser’s Annual Soup & Chili Cook-off Contest Rules:
Fourth Annual Kiwanis Early Riser’s Chili Cook-off to be held on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Washington County Fair Park, located at Highways P & PV.
All entrants are to bring 4 gallons (1 large Nesco full) of their favorite soup or chili prepared (original, no purchased chili) to the hall where the event is being held, between the hour of 9:30 AM & 10:00 AM. Be sure to allow enough time to have your chili hot and ready to serve by 10:30AM. We ask that the soup/chili be brought already hot, if possible. We will have 3 categories for the judging: Cream, Broth or Chili. You may enter one, two or three categories, but each category you enter requires a separate form and entry fee.
All entrants should supply their own Nesco roaster, or large chafing dish, 1 ladle and one representative to serve the chili. If entrant does not have a Nesco, they need to let Kiwanis know at the time of sign up, one will be provided. If entrant does not have a representative available to serve their chili at the event, a Kiwanian can do the serving for you.
Entrant can choose to name their soup/chili for the contest and they may bring their own signage to decorate their assigned area (an area of at least 4’ wide will be provided).
All items belonging to the entrant must be picked up at the end of the event, no later than 3:00 PM that day.
There is a $50 non-refundable entrance fee, which will help cover costs of event. Profits will be used to help the area youth.
The Kiwanis Early Risers will supply an 8 X 10 sign with the company name for their designated area. An area of at least 4’ wide will be provided for serving. Posters will be posted around the area listing all participating companies. Each participating company will be provided with as many posters to display and tickets to sell upon request. Any advertising that is done; such as radio, newspapers, tickets or placemats will list participating companies when possible.
